During the stage, five riders clear the field: Daniel Turek (Czech Republic / Israel Cycling Academy), Dries Van Gestel (Belgium / Sport Vlaanderen), Torkil Veyhe (Denmark / ColoQuick), Hector Saez (Spain / Caja Rural) and Ole Forfang ( Norway / Team Joker). With the exception of Forfang, all the outliers came through and so the outliers sprinted. Van Gestel won this one before Turek. The defeated peloton followed with a good half a minute behind the finish line. Daniel Turek was the overall leader due to the more bonus seconds gained in the intermediate sprints.
For a long time during the stage, a three-man leading group led by Jon Irisarri (Spain / Caja Rural) and Wilmar Paredes (Colombia / Manzana) determined the stage. 45 kilometers from the finish, on the last mountain classification of the day, the group was caught again. In the following downhill, Timo Roosen (Netherlands / LottoNL) was able to break away from the next larger group. He drove out a maximum of 40 seconds. This was enough to achieve the goal as a soloist and thus he secured the stage victory. Two seconds after Roosen, the next larger group reached the goal. Dries Van Gestel (Belgium / Sport Vlaanderen) took over the overall classification.
Shortly after the start, a four-man leading group pulled away, again with Jon Irisarri (Spain / Caja Rural). The quartet was able to regain a lead of a maximum of four minutes and three kilometers from the finish. So it came to the mass sprint. This was won by Edvald Boasson Hagen (Norway / Dimension Data) ahead of Lars Boom (Netherlands / LottoNL). Van Gestel kept the overall lead.
Shortly before the finish line, there was a top group of 20 that I was able to drop off along the way. Like the day before, local Boasson Hagen (Dimension Data) won this sprint with a one-second lead over Torkil Veyhe (Dänermark / ColoQuick). Van Gestel retained overall leadership.
Up to 90 kilometers from the finish, a duo determined the stage before they were caught. The duo had a maximum lead of four minutes. Boasson Hagen won some intermediate sprints and thus important bonus seconds for the overall standings due to the lead catching up with the top group. Thereupon Boasson Hagen crawled up to Van Gestel within a second in the overall standings. Then the main field got smaller and smaller. Five kilometers from the finish line, Lennard Kämna (Germany / Sunweb) and Jeroen Meijers (Netherlands / Rompoot) separated from the remaining field. But a short time later the duo was put again. At the finish there was a sprint. As on the two days before, Boasson Hagen won this race ahead of Timo Roosen. Due to the bonus seconds gained at the finish, Boasson Hagen won the tour of the fjord.
