Triloca ( Triloka , Triloco ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Baucau ( municipality of Baucau ).

Triloca is to the west of the Baucau administrative office. To the west is the Suco Bucoli , east of the Suco Tirilolo and south of the Suco Gariuai . In the southwest Triloca borders on the administrative office of Vemasse with its Sucos Ostico , Uato-Lari and Loilubo . To the north lies the coast of the Strait of Wetar .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Triloca had an area of ​​36.53 km². Now there are 39.47 km². The border with Tirilolo was redrawn and areas in the south-east were given to the neighbors. In return, Triloca received an area strip in the south of Bucoli and in the extreme south of Triloca an area of ​​Gariuai.

The northern coastal road leads through the center of Sucos, one of the main traffic routes in the country, which connects Baucau with the state capital Dili . To the south of it is the settlement center of the Sucos, which is made up of several places and extends beyond the borders of the Sucos to the southeast. The locations are (from north to south): Dingantara , Rajawati ( Rajawali ), Angkasa Baru ( Angkasabaru ), Macadai de Cima ( Macadaicima ), Lequiloi Uato ( Lequilouato , Leguiloiuatu ) and Uaiboila and the settlements of Darasula and Bahamori, which were added by Gariuai in 2015 . On the coast is the village of Uatosaboli ( Uatosaholi ). The caves Wai-lia-bere and Wai-lia-mata are located near Darasula . They reach down to the groundwater.

In Rajawati there is a primary school and a pre-secondary school ( Escola Pre Secundaria Triloca ). There is another primary school in Uaiboila.

In the Suco there are the four Aldeias Aubaca , Bado-Ho'o , Lequiloi Uato and Macadai .

Residents

2345 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 1226 are men and 1119 women. The population density is 59.4 inhabitants / km². There are 370 households in the Suco. Over 85% of the population speak the “coastal dialect” of Waimaha , which is one of the Kawaimina languages , as their mother tongue . Less than 10% speak Tetum Prasa , 5% Makasae .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Alexandre da Costa was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Maria do Carmo de Sa won . She was one of only four women in the ward in that position. In the 2016 elections , Alexandre da Costa was elected as the new Chefe de Suco.

economy

A test site has been set up in Triloca to test new varieties of plants and teach local people about agricultural methods. There is also a sericulture and a nursery for fruit trees.
