Tristan Brandt

Tristan Brandt (born February 24, 1985 in Mainz ) is a German chef .

Live and act

After completing his apprenticeship, Brandt moved to Schwarz das Restaurant (one Michelin star ) in Heidelberg to Manfred Schwarz . In 2006, two years followed in the Schwarzwaldstube restaurant under Harald Wohlfahrt . Brandt gained international experience in Alsace with Jean-Georges Klein and in Shanghai , China . From 2012 Tristan Brandt worked at Christian Bau in Victor's gourmet restaurant Schloss Berg as Sous Chef. At the end of 2012, he passed the master chef examination at the hotel management school in Heidelberg . In 2012 he worked with Dieter Müller on the MS Europa.

From August 2013 to May 2020 Tristan Brandt was the head chef in the Opus V restaurant in the Engelhorn KGaA fashion house . In 2014 Opus V received its first Michelin star . The Gault-Millau awarded 16 out of 20 possible points and recognized Brandt as “Young Talent 2015”. At the end of 2016, the second Michelin star followed for Opus V. At the beginning of June 2020, he left Opus V. Dominik Paul, who had long been the right-hand man of the former head chef, became his successor.

In July 2020 Brandt became managing director of the 959 restaurant in Heidelberg .
