Trophée Andros
The Trophée Andros is a French ice racing series that has been held on specially prepared ice slopes since 1990 at the turn of the year. In addition to France, there is a competition in Andorra , and there have been sporadic races in Canada .
The racing series was started in 1990 by Max Mamers , a former rallycross driver (French rallycross champion 1982 and 1983 on Talbot Matra Murena ), and his friend Frédéric Gervoson, owner of the Andros company (a compote and jam maker). Their first run was held in Serre Chevalier on January 27, 1990 , after Mamers and Gervoson had been working on their plans since 1985. In addition to Serre Chevalier, other venues were well-known winter sports resorts such as Val Thorens , L'Alpe d'Huez , Isola 2000 , Lans-en-Vercors , Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and Super Besse .
We drive with silhouette vehicles with all-wheel drive as well as all-wheel steering and tires with spikes. There are also other classes for electric cars (since the 2009/10 season) and for motorcycles (since 1997/98). There was also a class for buggies ( sprint cars ) from 2001/02 up to and including 2009/10 .
