Truckendorf is a hamlet in the Emstadt district of Schalkau in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .

Truckendorf is located southwest of Schalkau and lies with the district on the border with Bavaria . The nature reserve Magerrasen near Emstadt and Itzaue lies east of the district.
history
The village was first mentioned on April 30, 1337. 75 people lived in the district in 2012. On July 1, 1950, Truckendorf was incorporated into Emstadt . During the time of the division of Germany, the village was shaped by the measures taken by the GDR authorities to guard the inner-German border . In 1961 the Weihersmühle was demolished because of its proximity to the border.

Itzgründisch , a Main Franconian dialect, is spoken in Truckendorf .
