Trumieje ( German  Groß Tromnau ) is a village in the rural municipality of Gardeja ( Garnsee ) in the powiat Kwidzyński ( Marienwerder district ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The village is located in historic West Prussia , about 18 kilometers southeast of Marienwerder ( Kwidzyn ).

history

Village church from the 14th century, object of dispute between the diocese of Pomesanien and the Teutonic Order in 1366 , Protestant from 1554 to 1945, 2nd half of the 19th century. Stabilization of the tower

The origins of the local church go back to 1330. In 1789, Groß Tromnau is referred to as a noble farm and village with a Lutheran church, which has 18 fireplaces (households) and is located on a river without a name. The manor Groß Tromnau had over 1,020 hectares of arable land in 1871 .

Based on the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population in the Marienwerder voting area , to which Groß Tromnau belonged, voted on July 11, 1920 on whether it would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Groß Tromnau, 144 people voted to remain with East Prussia, while Poland did not.

In 1945 the manor district Groß Tromnau belonged to the rural community of Klötzen in the district of Marienwerder in the Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia of the German Empire .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in early 1945 after fighting with the Wehrmacht . In the summer of 1945, Klötzen and Groß Tromnau were placed under Polish administration by the Soviet occupying power in accordance with the Potsdam Agreement, together with all of West Prussia and the southern half of East Prussia . As far as the residents had not fled, they were expelled from Klötzen and Groß Tromnau in the following period .
