Tubular Beats is a remix album that was created in a collaboration between Mike Oldfield and Torsten Stenzel from the band York . It was released on February 1, 2013. Unlike previous club mixes, the album is a real collaboration between Oldfield and Stenzel, using parts of the original multitrack tapes as well aspartsnewly recorded by Oldfield. Tarja Turunen also singsthe title Never Too Far .
The album was released under the Edel label in Germany , although Oldfield is under contract with Universal / Mercury . A preview of the album cover showed Oldfield's Tubular Bells logo in blue and black on a white background.
A promo video of the title Guilty 2013 was released on earMusic and contained an abridged version of the Guilty Electrofunk Mix . In 2011, Moist Creations published a screenshot of this video under the name "Guilty 2011".
The title Tubular Bells 2 (Mike Oldfield & York Remix) is, contrary to what the name suggests, not the remix of a title from the album Tubular Bells II , but a remix of the title Finale of the album Tubular Bells , which also includes a melody line A minor tune from the same album is incorporated.
