history

From 1981 to 1988, the Student Representation of the Technical University of Munich and the Cultural Department of the City of Munich jointly organized a week -long festival called Singats by Munich songwriters and cabaret artists . Musicians like Franz Josef Degenhardt , Konstantin Wecker , Klaus Lage , the Biermösl Blosn and Zither Manä performed there.

Since 1988 the festival has been organized exclusively by the student representative of the TU Munich and has been called TUNIX since then. A phase as a pure music festival followed, where not only young artists but also more and more well-known musicians such as Hans Söllner performed. Since 2007, cabaret artists have also been on the program at TUNIX.

For noise protection reasons, the music events usually end at 10 p.m.

Artists and bands

The TUNIX is primarily a platform for locally and regionally known artists. However, some were able to use the festival as a springboard. So had Willy Astor its first major success after his appearance on the Singats in 1984. In the years after 1988 were bands like Bluekilla , noise , Albert C. Humphrey , The Burning flamingos and radio station discovered on the TUNIX.

Schandmaul , Juli and Elli also had appearances at the festival , the latter both before and after becoming known nationwide.

The vast majority of the performances are advertised annually by the organizers for applications.
