The Turnverein 1860 Fürth is a sports club from Fürth in Middle Franconia . Today's popular sports club, founded on May 26, 1860 , is the third largest in Northern Bavaria with 23 sports facilities and over 5000 members . So that a concentration on popular sport can be maintained and at the same time successful sports within the club are not slowed down in their development, the most successful departments have often been spun off from the club. The association is best known through these subsidiary associations.

fencing
The fencing club Fürth was founded in 1913, the first tournament successes were achieved after a short time and the Fürth team soon became part of the Bavarian fencing elite. This hopeful development was interrupted by the outbreak of the First World War. However, shortly after the end of the war, fencing was resumed and seamlessly continued the good performance before the war began.
In 1928 the fencing department was renamed Fechtclub Fürth in TV 1860 . In the same year, women's fencing was introduced. Again, the people of Fürth made a name for themselves through national and international successes. However, the Second World War brought all sporting activities to a complete standstill. The fencing club was not re-launched until 1949. This year the Bavarian Fencing Association was re-established in Fürth . The first Bavarian championships were held here in 1950.
Since 2004 the fencing club Fürth has been operating the state fencing base in Fürth Atzenhof. Trainer is u. a. the fencing master Ferenc Tóth.
Soccer
The football department became independent several times. As early as 1906, SpVgg Fürth (since 1996 SpVgg Greuther Fürth ) emerged as a spin-off and was three times German football champion . The SG Quelle Fürth, founded on June 1, 1973 (merger of the football departments of the Turnverein 1860 Fürth and the BSG Schickedanz Fürth ), which belonged to the Regionalliga Süd for two years and has played in the leagues below, remained under the umbrella of the main club .
Handball
The successful handball department (including two South German champions) ultimately also went this way. On June 17, 1975, she joined forces with the handball players of SpVgg Fürth to form HG Quelle Fürth . The first women's team has meanwhile been promoted to the second division. In June 2006 the entire first team, meanwhile playing in the third-class regional league, switched to 1. FC Nürnberg as its second women's team. The costs of around € 50,000 for ongoing gaming operations could no longer be raised due to the steady decline in sponsorship money from the Quelle group.
athletics
On November 10, 1969, the athletes founded the LAC Quelle Fürth . This department is not an independent association, but is largely self-organized and has produced internationally successful athletes such as Bernd Kannenberg , Patriz Ilg , Florian Schwarthoff and Nico Motchebon .
tennis
The tennis department of TV Fürth 1860 operates a tennis facility with 15 outdoor clay courts and two indoor courts directly at the Fürth city forest. The tennis department is characterized above all by its youth work and the promotion of young talent, for which it has already been awarded the Green Belt four times for exemplary talent promotion in the Dresdner Bank and DOSB association . Players in the tennis department have already achieved one world, one European, 22 German and 46 Bavarian championship titles as well as numerous titles and placements in youth, junior and ranked tournaments. The best- known young talent is Maximilian Marterer , who has already made it into the top 100 of the tennis world rankings .
Since 1979, the department has organized the ATP Challenger Fürth , a 42,000 euro tournament of the ATP Challenger Tour , which is marketed under the name "Franken Challenge", formerly "Schickedanz Open".

The third division team of VfL Nürnberg joined TV Fürth 1860 in 2017.
