2017 African Under-20 Football Championship / qualification
The qualification for the U-20 African Cup of Nations 2017 was held to determine the seven finalists alongside hosts Zambia . The games took place between April 1 and July 24, 2016.

The registered teams determined the seven final round participants in three qualifying rounds in the knockout system with home and return legs. In the event of a tie, the away goal rule decided on progress. If there was also a tie, a penalty shoot- out was carried out without extra time .
Preliminary round
The first legs were played on April 1, 2 and 3, the second legs on April 22, 23 and 24, 2016.
