action

A few minutes after a subway train of the Red Line in Los Angeles , the Hollywood / Highland metro station has left, detonated in one of the carriages of the train a bomb . The train derails and crashes into the tunnel walls without braking. The remains lie in ruins under the earth, the surrounding tunnel system collapses and buried the accident site. Most of the passengers did not survive and the few survivors, each of whom had their own personal experiences and conflicts with themselves and their respective surroundings, remained as a refuge in an overturned wagon, the batteries of which could still feed the lighting for some time, while outside the The wagons have little room for movement. Shortly after they became aware that they were trapped in this collapsed subway tunnel, they discovered a second bomb with a running time fuse - camouflaged in a first aid kit . There are growing fears among those trapped that the assassin might still be alive and thus one of them. They begin with mutual suspicion and blame, with Latino Al being suspected and chained to a grab bar by Iraq war veteran Mason.

The ticking bomb forces the trapped to act. Sam agrees to carry the bomb out of the car and try to defuse it by pulling wires out at the same time . When Mason, who is looking after the bomb again with Sam outside the car, notices shortly afterwards that Sam did not pull out the wires and thus did not defuse the bomb, but only stopped the time fuse, it becomes clear to him and the audience that Sam is the assassin is. Mason destroys the time fuse, but is immediately killed by Sam. Across from those in the car, Sam depicts Mason's death as an accident caused by falling rubble. Tori, however, has already discovered inconsistencies in Sam's statements and lures him into a trap in order to expose him, with Rubina, who helps her in the attack Lost fiancé. However, Sam has obtained Mason's gun and takes the little girl Dillon hostage to keep the trapped within docile. He tries again to arm the bomb on the side outside of the car and thus kill the other survivors. The passengers can defuse them and Dillon can escape back into the car. In order to overwhelm Sam, some survivors leave the car and walk towards him, protected by a bench from the car, while Tori climbs onto the roof of the car and crawls along to get to Sam. Sam opens fire and shoots Rubina, but in the end the others join forces to overpower and knock Sam down. At this moment the rescue teams push through from outside to the trapped.

criticism

In the online film database , the critic `horror1966´ describes the film as a positive surprise due to its successful staging, first-class atmosphere and in parts with absolute high tension, so that this film does not have to hide behind much higher budgeted Hollywood blockbusters and one does shouldn't let go by unnoticed, otherwise you would really miss something.

Awards
