The Eichbaum underground station is a stop for the Stadtbahn in Mülheim an der Ruhr . It is maintained by the Mülheimer VerkehrsGesellschaft and is located on the Essen-Mülheimer route of the U18, which is operated by the Essen Stadtbahn .
history
The Heißen Kirche - Essen Berliner Platz section , to which the Eichbaum train station belongs, was opened in 1977 as a model route for a future light rail line. The extension of the route beyond the Heißen district towards Mülheim city center was completed in September 1979.

The train station is located within the Mülheim-Heißen motorway junction, below the A 40 , which is connected to the B 1 , namely Essener Straße. In addition to the expressways, Kruppstraße also runs past the Stadtbahntraße, which also has access to the underground station, which is located at the Kruppstraße / Gneisenaustraße intersection. Another entrance, located in a northerly direction, leads by foot to Blücherstraße and Klotzdelle.
