The Uhlenköpfe are a 380 m above sea level. NN high elevation of the low mountain range Harz in Saxony-Anhalt Harz district . They are located near the Harzgeroder district of Silberhütte .

The Uhlenköpf rise in the Lower Harz in the Harz Nature Park . They are 730 m north-west of Silberhütte , 1.6 km south-south-west of Hänichen and 2.5 km south-east of Siptenfelde ; all three belong to the town of Harzgerode . The Selke tributary Uhlenbach flows to the southwest .
Natural allocation
The Uhlenköpfe belong to the natural spatial main unit group Harz (No. 38) and in the main unit Lower Harz (382) to the subunit Güntersberg plateau (382.3).
Protected areas
Parts of the Upper Selketal nature reserve ( CDDA no. 318891; designated 1998; 17.401 km² in size), the Harz landscape protection area and northern Harz foreland ( CDDA no. 20784; 1968; 1587.6238 km²) and the Fauna-Flora Habitat area Selketal and mountain meadows near Stiege (FFH no. 4332-302; 45.22 km²).
Traffic and walking
Uhlen southeast of the heads runs from Selketal Strassberg by Silberhütte towards Alexisbad the national road 234 that there on the national highway 242 abuts; The latter leads almost 2 km north of the elevation through Siptenfelde to Güntersberge . The Brockenblick vantage point is located on the elevation , from where the Brocken 39 km away and the nearby Großer Auerberg can be seen. The Selketalstieg and Harzklub-Weg 34D from Silberhütte to Hänichen pass around 40 m northeast below the lookout point . On the eastern slope of the elevation, at the entrance to the lookout point, there is stamp point No. 176 (Uhlenköpf Hänichen) of the Harz hiking pin .
