Ulrich Hintzen (born September 2, 1957 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Hintzen played for MSV Duisburg until 1978 . For MSV he played six Bundesliga games . He made his debut on November 25, 1977 in a 5-0 win against 1. FC Saarbrücken when he had his predecessor Otto from coach Carl-Heinz Rühl , the ex-player of 1. FC Cologne and MSV Duisburg, on November 19 Knefler was replaced and Theo Bücker came on in the 80th minute . The MSV finished sixth at the end of the round and Hintzen had not been able to establish himself alongside regular players such as Bernard Dietz , Michael Bella , Kees Bregman , Herbert Büssers , Ditmar Jakobs and Kurt Jara .

Hintzen moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Preußen Münster in the 1978/79 season . With the Prussians he took third place in the final table in the northern relay after ten missions in his first year; so the relegation game for promotion was just missed. In the new game round 1979/80, Hintzen, alongside Werner Fuchs and Friedhelm Schütte, became a long-time favorite in the team by completing all 36 games of the season. With 10th place in the final table, Prussia could not build on the success of the previous year. Hintzen moved in the last year of the two-pronged 2. Bundesliga, 1980/81, to the southern season for FC 08 Homburg , where he played six games. Homburg could not qualify with the 11th place for the new season for the single-track 2. Bundesliga and thus started in the upper league. The Homburg top performers Manfred Lenz , Kurt Knoll , Bernd Beck and Herbert Demange could not completely compensate for the problems in the coaching area, where with Harald Braner , Siegfried Melzig and in the end with the team Heinz Nitze / Albert Müller , three trainers wore themselves out.

In the 1981/82 season Hintzen won the championship with Homburg, but did not make it to the 2nd Bundesliga. He then played until 1987 at Schwarz-Weiß Essen in the football league in North Rhine-Westphalia .
