Ulrich Schröder (film architect)

Ulrich Schröder (* 7. November 1941 in the German Reich ; † 28. August 2010 in Hamburg ) was a German art director , stage and Production Designer .

Live and act

At the beginning of the 1960s, Schröder gained practical experience with veteran film architects Paul Markwitz and Willi A. Herrmann . From 1962 Schröder worked as a film architect, scene and costume designer. With his decorations, he supervised television games and series, but also TV shows, theater performances and scientific broadcasts.

Schröder's work has led him to work with renowned directors such as Wolfgang Staudte , Hans W. Geißendörfer , Ottokar Runze , Claus Peter Witt , Günter Gräwert , Vojtěch Jasný , Volker Vogeler , Peter Schulze-Rohr , Michael Günther , Wolfgang Liebeneiner and the science journalist Hoimar von Ditfurth ( ZDF Format cross-section ).

Schröder's greatest audience success was the ZDF series Die Schwarzwaldklinik in the second half of the 1980s . Schröder also provided the film structures for two cinema comedies by and with Otto Waalkes . Ulrich Schröder remained active as a production designer until immediately before his death.
