Utz is a British film drama directed by George Sluizer from the year 1992 . It is based on the novel Utz by Bruce Chatwin . The model for the figure of the collector Kaspar von Utz was the Prague porcelain and glass collector Rudolf Just.

In 1989, after the death of Baron von Utz, an art dealer friend of mine visits the city of Prague in what was then the Czechoslovak Republic (ČSR). His aim is to clarify the whereabouts of the baron's priceless and unique collection of figurines made from Meissen porcelain . He meets an old friend of the baron who tells him about the baron's past.

The television stations NDR and BBC were also involved in the production of the film . The shooting took place in the summer of 1991 in Prague and the surrounding area.

The first performance on German television was on December 23, 1995 on NDR television (Nord 3) .
