Ulrike Trebesius (2014)

Ulrike Trebesius (born April 17, 1970 in Halle / Saale ) is a German civil engineer and politician . From 2013 to 2015 she was a member of the AfD and spokeswoman for the Schleswig-Holstein regional association. She then helped found the Alliance for Progress and Awakening in July 2015. She was general secretary until June 4, 2016 , then until November 2016 federal chairwoman of the party, which renamed itself Liberal-Conservative Reformer (LKR) that same month . In September 2018, she resigned from the LKR. Trebesius was a member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2019 .

Life

Trebesius grew up in the GDR and, according to his own statements, took part in Monday demonstrations in autumn 1989 . From 1988 to 1991 she studied civil engineering at the engineering school for civil engineering and engineering pedagogy in Magdeburg , which she completed as a graduate engineer (FH) .

Trebesius then worked as a planner and designer in an engineering office in Hamburg. In 1992/93 she was a lecturer at the technical college in Heinze , then a technical assistant in a construction company in Norderstedt . From 1995 she worked in sales at the Finnish furniture manufacturer Martela Oy and from 2002 to 2004 technical assistant in a company in Elmshorn . In 2005 she became a planner in an engineering office in Henstedt-Ulzburg . Until 2014 she worked as a designer in a medium-sized company in Elmshorn.

Trebesius is married to a Hamburg building contractor and has a daughter. She lives in Horst (Holstein) .

Political commitment

Political party

Trebesius was elected spokesperson for Germany when the Schleswig-Holstein regional association was founded in April 2013. She ran unsuccessfully as the top candidate of her regional association in the 2013 federal election . As a direct candidate for the Bundestag constituency Steinburg - Dithmarschen Süd (constituency 3), she received 3.6 percent of the first votes. Trebesius then became chairwoman of the Weckruf 2015 association due to the development of the party in summer 2015 . The party should preserve this as factual and constructive with conservative as well as liberal and social values. After the federal party conference in Essen , she resigned from the party. At the founding party conference of the Alliance for Progress and Awakening (ALFA) in July 2015, she was elected Secretary General. After the federal party conference in 2016, she became the new chairwoman of the party and thus successor to Bernd Lucke . In November 2016, according to the party, she announced her withdrawal from the presidency for private reasons. In September 2018 she resigned from the LKR party.

Member of the European Parliament

In the European elections in Germany in 2014 , she was elected a member of the European Parliament on position 6 of the AfD. There she was a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) and an alternate member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO). She left parliament after the 2019 European elections in Germany .
