The constituency Steinburg-Dithmarschen South (constituency 3) is a federal electoral district in Schleswig-Holstein and off the covers Steinburg from Dithmarschen the city Brunsbüttel and offices Burg-Sankt Michaelisdonn , Marne-North and Central Dithmarschen . In addition, the city of Bad Bramstedt and the Bad Bramstedt-Land office from the Segeberg district belong to the constituency.

history
The constituency Steinburg - Dithmarschen Süd was called constituency Steinburg - Süderdithmarschen in the federal elections in 1965 and 1969 . It was newly formed for the 1965 Bundestag election from the former constituency of Steinburg and the southern part of the former constituency of Norder- and Süderdithmarschen . It was number 4 in the elections from 1965 to 1972 and has been number 3 since the 1976 federal election. From 1972 to 1998 inclusive, a hyphen was placed between Dithmarschen and Süd .
In 1965 and 1969, the area of the constituency consisted of the Steinburg and Süderdithmarschen districts . After the district reform in Schleswig-Holstein, the constituency for the 1972 election again consisted of the Steinburg district and the southern part of the newly formed Dithmarschen district. The constituency existed in this form until 1998. For the federal election in 2002, the municipality and the Bad Bramstedt office were finally added.
