history

The constituency Segeberg - Stormarn-Nord was newly formed for the 1976 federal election from parts of the former constituencies Segeberg - Eutin and Stormarn - Duchy of Lauenburg and has always had constituency number 8 since then.

Originally the entire area of the Segeberg district belonged to the constituency. Before the federal election in 2002, however, the municipality of Bad Bramstedt and the Bad Bramstedt-Land office were transferred to the constituency of Steinburg - Dithmarschen Süd and the municipality of Boostedt and the office of Rickling to the constituency of Plön - Neumünster .

The Stormarn district, which is part of the constituency, also changed. Before the Bundestag elections in 1998, the municipality of Reinfeld (Holstein) and the Nordstormarn office went to the constituency of Ostholstein and before the Bundestag elections in 2002, the municipality of Ammersbek from the constituency of the Duchy of Lauenburg - Stormarn-Süd was added. For the 2013 federal election the constituency was renamed Segeberg - Stormarn-Mitte .
