Embrace me is a song of the German Pop - duo Ich + Ich . The piece is the fourth single from her debut album Ich + Ich .
Creation and artwork
The song was written and produced by Florian Fischer , Annette Humpe , Sebastian Kirchner and Adel Tawil . The single was mixed in the Berlin Tritonus Studios, under the direction of Olaf Opal and his assistant Oliver Zülch. The recordings took place in the Berlin recording studios Aquarium and Keller, under the direction of Florian Fischer, Sebastian Kirchner and Adel Tawil. The song was released under the Polydor music label . On the cover - in addition to artist names and song titles - Humpe and Tawil from Ich + Ich can be seen in faded colors.
Publication and promotion
The first publication of Umarme mich took place on November 29, 2005 as a download. The release of a physical sound carrier followed three days later on December 2, 2005 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the “single version”, the maxi single also includes two remix versions by DJs Phil Fuldner and SONO of Umarme mich , as well as the songs Dienen and Ich hab Zeit as B-side . A download EP released exclusively on iTunes has been expanded to include the song Nur somebody I knew as another B-side.
Live performances by Umarme mich on the radio or radio have still not taken place in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The duo only played the song live at their concerts.

The song is mainly sung by Tawil. Humpe can only be heard in the background towards the end, in which she repeats some key words from the lyrics. The song is about a person who works hard and has made it far in life. But the high position in the world of work alone does not make this person happy, only the feeling of closeness with a certain partner makes the person happy.

Music video
Like the two previous singles You remind me of love and service , this music video also consists largely of a comic animation. You can see the everyday life of a little worker who has fallen in love with his colleague. His boss also has an eye on this employee. Ultimately, he wins her over and the video ends with a sex scene between them. In between, Tawil can be seen in black and white on every screen (computer, television, etc.) . As in the previous videos, there is also a small white dog in the video. It is offered as a small cuddly toy at the checkout. Humpe only appears very briefly towards the end at Tawil's side. The total length of the video is 3:50 minutes. Directed by Alexander Gellner (animation), Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher .

Hug me reached position 41 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of nine weeks. In Austria, the single reached position 17 and stayed in the charts for a total of 19 weeks.
For Ich + Ich this is the fourth chart success in Germany and the third in Austria. For Tawil as an author, this was his tenth chart success in Germany and his second in Austria. As a producer it is his fifth chart success in Germany and his fourth in Austria. For Humpe as an author, Umarme mich was her 21st chart success in Germany and her ninth in Austria. As a producer, it is her 24th chart success in Germany and her 13th in Austria.
