The Unterbalbach-Röttinger Riedel is a part of the Tauberland natural area in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria , the area of which extends between the eponymous towns of Unterbalbach (in the Main-Tauber district ) and Röttingen (in the Würzburg district ).
As Riedel is generally a center back between two valleys - in this case between the valleys at Unterbalbach and Röttingen - called.
The Unterbalbach-Röttinger Riedel is a natural sub-unit No. 129.40 of the main unit group Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten, one of four subdivision units of the Tauberberg unit (No. 129.4) in the second decimal place. The other subdivision units of the Tauberberg are the Messelhausen plateau (No. 129.41), the Großrinderfelder area (No. 129.42) and the Werbach-Böttigheimer Tal (No. 129.43).
