The Werbach-Böttigheimer Tal is part of the Tauberland natural area in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria . The area comprises the two connected valley basins of the Welzbach and the smaller Limbach ditch , which flow in shortly after each other from about the northeast of the Tauber near Werbach (in the Main-Tauber district ) . The larger Welzbachtal has a share in the communities Altertheim (in the district of Würzburg ) and Werbach, some of which are both in the valley, the smaller valley of the Limbach ditch in the districts of Neubrunn (in the district of Würzburg) with the village of Böttigheim and Werbach.
The Werbach-Böttigheimer Tal is a natural sub-unit No. 129.43 of the main unit group Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten, one of four subdivision units of the Tauberberg unit (No. 129.4) in the second decimal place. The other subdivision units of the Tauberberg are the Unterbalbach-Röttinger Riedel (No. 129.40), the Messelhausen high area (No. 129.41) and the Großrinderfelder area (No. 129.42).
