Untereurach is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Iffeldorf in the Weilheim-Schongau district . Today's village is about one kilometer northeast of the Iffeldorfer town center, from which it is separated by the tracks of the Kochelseebahn and the 2063 state road .

history

The name Untereurach changed over time. If it originally described the two courtyards 300 meters northwest of Obereurach , the name shifted in the 1950s to 1960s to the settlement 1.5 kilometers south-southwest, which was growing rapidly at the time. Untereurach was classified as a wasteland in 1867 , then as a hamlet until 1928 and finally as a village from 1952.

Original hamlet or wasteland Untereurach

The first mention Eurach as "Eyran" in Urbar the Lords of Seefeld - Peißenberg from the period between 1300 and 1320. Historical name forms are Untereura and Untereyrach .

The southern Untereuracher Hof was the "Leonhard", which as a ¹ ⁄ ₈ -hof was subject to interest in the Heilig-Geist-Spital in Weilheim . Hugo von Maffei , the operator of the nearby Staltach estate , bought it in 1871 and used it as a cowshed. After the Second World War it was canceled. The northern Untereuracher Hof was the "Jakl", also a ¹ ⁄ ₈ -hof, but the Bernried monastery paid interest. Joseph Anton von Maffei , Hugo's predecessor at Gut Staltach, bought this property as early as 1868 . In the times of the estate, it was used as a workers' house.

In 1973 the St. Eurach golf course was built in the corridors around Unter- and Obereurach.

Today's village of Untereurach

Aschberg wasteland was on a small part of the area until 1884 , the rest was covered with forest and fields. From around the beginning of the 20th century, some buildings stood there again and from around 1950 onwards construction activity increased more and more.

Population development

It is unclear to which area the population figures refer. From 1950 onwards, it should surely be the part of the village that is now understood as Untereurach.
