Neander motorcycle factory

NEANDER motorcycle from 1929

A lack of space in the Euskirchen plant forced Ernst Neumann-Neander to move from Euskirchen to Düren- Rölsdorf to Werkstrasse 4 at the end of 1926. His NEANDER motorcycle factory with 120 employees produced over 2000 motorcycles with the famous NEANDER frame until bankruptcy in 1929 . Neumann-Neander-Strasse was named after the company.

Julius Hoesch GmbH & Co KG

The chemical wholesaler Julius Hoesch GmbH & Co. KG has been selling mineral oil products, basic chemicals and specialties nationwide from its location in Düren-Hoven since 1865.

AnNoText and DictaPlus

The AnNoText GmbH is a company specializing in the professional group of lawyers VAR companies in Düren district Birkesdorf, North Rhine-Westphalia. The name AnNoText stands for lawyer and notary word and data processing. In 1978 lawyer Josef Kurth from the Düren law firm Hermann, Kindgen Dr. Schaefer and Kurth with the development of a special program for notaries and lawyers. Attorney Dr. Josef Schaefer also began marketing the software. In 1983 AnNoText was registered as a trademark. Just one year later, 400 law firms were working on 1,000 workstations with the AnNoText software. Since 1994 AnNoText has been dealing with the creation of workflows and contexts for speech recognition. In 1996 she founded the French subsidiary AnNoText France, today DictaPlus France, and in 1998 DictaPlus Germany, which in 2003 became a competence center for speech recognition.

Carl KRAFFT & Sons GmbH & Co. KG

The mechanical engineering company was founded as an iron foundry in 1870 and is still family-owned today. Since the 1980s, the company has specialized in the production of rotationally symmetrical components such as rolls, cylinders, drums and similar large turned parts and, in addition to the paper industry, supplies numerous industries worldwide with such products.

Neapco Europe

The former Visteon plant is housed in the former Ford branch . The city's largest commercial employer with 1,000 employees (800 permanent employees and 200 temporary workers) produces parts for vehicles. After the insolvency of tedrive Germany GmbH, it now operates under the name Neapco Europe .

Since May 2018 about 10,000 annually StreetScooter electric vehicles produced by Neapco. About 250 new jobs were created.

Anchor carpet Gebr. Schoeller GmbH & Co. KG

Anker-Carpeting was founded in 1854 by Leopold Schoeller and is now one of the most renowned European carpet manufacturers for contract furnishings. The sixth generation of the medium-sized family company with around 380 employees produces using the weaving and tufting process. The focus of the market is textile floor coverings for banks, offices, administrations, health care, hotels and shopping areas. The company has a carded yarn spinning mill, a rod weaving mill for shaft and jacquard, a tufting production facility, a dyeing facility for flakes and hanks as well as a piece dyeing facility, a Chromojet printing system and a continuing system.

The StadtCenter Düren was opened on September 8, 2005 in Kuhgasse . The shopping center houses 55 stores to a total of 15,000 sqm of retail space, including the main tenant Saturn and H & M .

Petry-Dereux, Düren

The steam boiler factory Petry-Dereux GmbH in Düren- Rölsdorf was founded in 1854 by the Belgian entrepreneur Toussaint Pétry. Later his heir Léon Pétry took over the management.

At the end of the 19th century, Petry-Dereux was a leading manufacturer of steam boilers and holder of numerous patents.

In 1927 Petry-Dereux merged into the VKW after economic difficulties. In 1933, production at the Düren location was shut down (concentration in Düsseldorf), and the plant was sold in 1939.
