Ursula Schneider Schüttel (born November 26, 1961 in Bern ; resident in Bern and Frutigen ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Ursula Schneider shaking was in the 2001 local council of Murten selected. Schneider Schüttel is Vice-Mayor of Murten and substitute judge at the Freiburg cantonal court. From 2010 to 2012 she was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg .

In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2011 , the 50-year-old lawyer took first place on the SP list. She was sworn in on May 29, 2012 as the successor to Christian Levrat as National Councilor. She belonged to the Commission for Legal Issues NR (RK-NR). In the general elections in 2015 re-election failed. In 2017 she was able to move up to the National Council again when her party colleague Jean-François Steiert was elected to the cantonal government of Freiburg and resigned as National Council. She took a seat on the Finance Committee of the National Council. She was confirmed in office in the 2019 elections .

Schneider Schüttel is a lawyer. She is married, has two children and lives in Murten.
