The Uruguayan national women's volleyball team is a selection of the best Uruguayan players, who represent the Federación Uruguaya de Voleibol in international tournaments and internationals.
history
World championships
Uruguay finished ninth in the 1960 World Volleyball Championships .
Olympic games
Uruguay has never qualified for the Olympic Games.
South American Championships
At the premiere of the South American volleyball championship , Uruguay reached the final against hosts Brazil in 1951 . Five years later there was the same result in their own country and in 1958 the Uruguayan women came third. From 1964 to 1975 they took fourth and third place three times. At the tournaments in 1981 and 1983 it was only enough to place seven and six. In 1987, in their own country, the Uruguayans also finished sixth. In the following five tournaments, they slipped temporarily to eighth place, before they were fifth and fourth again in 1999 and 2001 results. The same results were achieved in 2005 and 2007.
World cup
The first edition of the World Cup in 1973 ended Uruguay in the last of ten places.
World Grand Prix
The World Grand Prix has so far taken place without Uruguayan participation.
