Víctor Camarasa Ferrando (born May 28, 1994 in Meliana ) is a Spanish football player . The central midfielder was trained at Valencia CF and Levante UD and played his first games in the English Premier League in the 2018/19 season .

Career

Club career

Víctor Camarasa was born in Meliana, not far from Valencia . At the age of seven, he joined the youth academy of Valencia CF in 2001 , but completed his training at the neighboring Levante UD ten years later . He played first competitive games for Levante's reserve team in Segunda División B in the 2012/13 season and made his debut in the first team in the Copa del Rey against Recreativo Huelva (0: 1) on December 7, 2013 . Two days later Camarasa signed a six-year deal in Levante and a few days later he scored the last goal in the 4-0 win in the second leg against Recreativo Huelva. On January 4, 2014, he made his debut in the top Spanish league by substituting for Simão against his home club from Valencia (0: 2), before he was officially accepted into the professional squad in July 2014 and gradually developed into a permanent fixture in the central midfield . After Levante's relegation from La Liga in the 2015/16 season , he was loaned to Deportivo Alavés for a year , which meant he was retained in the Spanish first division. There he completed 31 championship games and took a respectable ninth place with the newcomer .

The next stop was Betis Sevilla at the end of June 2017 . There Camara signed a five-year contract and in the 2017/18 season he qualified for the Europa League with Betis . Instead of playing there, however, he moved to Cardiff City on loan to the English Premier League for the 2018/19 season and knew how to please with 32 appearances and five goals despite relegation. In August 2019, another loan deal was initiated with an English first division club, now with Crystal Palace . In addition, a purchase option for “Palace” for an amount of 15 million pounds was set. However, the start was unfortunate for Camara. He rarely knew how to convince the responsible coach Roy Hodgson and in the Premier League he initially only came to a 5-minute short assignment. Rumors of an early end to the loan deal in January 2020 increased. Hodgson was hostile to these, referred to the competitive situation in midfield and demanded patience.

National team

Camarasa made four U-21 internationals for Spain between November 2014 and March 2017.
