Víctor Vázquez Solsona (born January 20, 1987 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish football player . The attacking midfielder was trained at the FC Barcelona's youth academy and has been playing for Belgian first division KAS Eupen since August 2020 .
Career
Vázquez was accepted into the FC Barcelona youth academy at the age of ten . Vázquez went through the various youth teams of FC Barcelona and joined FC Barcelona C in 2005, then the third reserve team in Barcelona. A year later he rose to the second team, where he quickly established himself as a regular player. His first and so far only league game for the first team, he played in 2008, when he came on on the 32nd matchday of the 2007/08 season for Santiago Ezquerro in the game against Recreativo Huelva . In the same year Vázquez was in the Champions League group game against Shakhtar Donetsk (2: 3) on the starting line-up. However, he was still used mainly in the B-Team. With Barcelona B he made promotion to the Segunda División , the second highest Spanish division, in the 2009/10 season .
In the 2010/11 season he took over the captaincy of José Manuel Rueda, who had migrated to Omonia Nicosia . In the last group game of the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League , against Russian club Rubin Kazan , Vázquez contributed the goal to the 2-0 final result.
In the summer of 2011 Vázquez moved to Club Bruges on a free transfer , where he signed for three seasons. In 2016 he went to CD Cruz Azul and a year later he joined Toronto FC . Since January 2019 he played in Qatar , first for Al-Arabi and then for Umm-Salal SC . In August 2020 he moved back to Division 1A at KAS Eupen for free , where he signed a two-year contract.
