History of the Raiffeisenbank Geisenhausen eG

In 1894, the then parish priest, Mathias Steinberger, took the initiative to found a loan association in Geisenhausen, true to his principle: "Help yourself, then God helps you". For this purpose, on January 30, 1894, as part of the anniversary meeting of the local, laudable farmers' association in the inn "Jungbräu" Steinberger and 23 economy-leading citizens and farmers from the parish met to found a "Raiffeisen Association".

In 1910, the Geisenhausen brewery cooperative was founded under the leadership of the Raiffeisenbank. In the years 1936, 1955 and 1960 the Spar- u. Loan funds Holzhausen, Obergangkofen , Hohenegglkofen and Reichlkofen merged with the Raiffeisenbank Geisenhausen. In Reichlkofen a branch with a merchandise business was continued. On June 11, 1961, a new goods store was founded in Geisenhausen. In 1965 the office in Landshut, Flurstrasse 7d was opened.

From 1970 onwards, only monetary transactions were carried out in the main office in Geisenhausen. On January 1, 1974, a new branch was opened in Kumhausen. In 1979 the goods store in Reichlkofen was sold to the Baywa company, and at the same time a new branch was established in Reichlkofen. Another branch opened in 1980 in Landshut, Savignystraße 18. In 1980, the new bank building in Geisenhausen was also inaugurated, which was built on the site of the now closed brewery cooperative. In 1998 the old "Oberhofer" building was acquired, which resulted in the expansion of Raiffeisenbank Geisenhausen eG by an additional administration building in 2000. On June 30, 2018, the Reichlkofen office was closed and merged with the Geisenhausen and Kirchberg offices.

History of VR-Bank Vilsbiburg eG

The "Genossenschaftskasse Vilsbiburg eGmbH" was founded on December 2nd, 1913 under the name "Genossenschaftskasse Vilsbiburg eGmbH". The founding meeting took place at the special initiative of the Vilsbiburger Gewerbeverein in Café Vogt. So Tuesday, December 2nd, 1913, marks the birthday of VR-Bank Vilsbiburg eG.

From 1933 the positive development of the cooperative bank took place almost undisturbed. The expansion of business activity meant that the previous bank rooms were no longer sufficient. The management tried to build a new and bigger bank building. The favorable opportunity presented to acquire the Brandl department store at Hindenburgplatz 8 (now Stadtplatz 8) was taken. On July 26, 1938, the purchase contract was notarized. In the General Assembly on June 18, 1939, the name was changed to “Volksbank Vilsbiburg eGmbH”. A significant day in the history of the Volksbank Vilsbiburg was the inauguration of the new bank building on Sunday, December 1, 1940. On October 22, 1990, a new branch was opened in Schachten. Inauguration of the new offices on December 18, 1999 in Bodenkirchen and in 2000 in Kirchberg.
