Valentina Fedyushina

Valentina Fedjuschina ( Ukrainian Валентина Федюшина , Walentyna Fedjuschyna ; born February 10, 1965 in Feodosiya ) is a former Austrian shot putter of Ukrainian origin.

In 1988 she took part in the Olympic Games in Seoul , starting for the Soviet Union , but was eliminated from the qualification. Starting for the United Team of the CIS , she finished fourth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1992 in Genoa. As the representative of Ukraine, she was fourth at the World Athletics Championships in Toronto in 1993 and seventh at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart . She was also seventh at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 , and in 1995 she placed sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and a tenth place at the World Championships in Gothenburg . In 1996 she won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm and was twelfth at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . At the 1997 World Championships in Athens, she failed in qualifying.

In 1999 she became an Austrian citizen. Starting for her new country, she finished seventh at the 1999 World Championships in Seville and twelfth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In 2002 she finished fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Vienna and came 13th at the European Championships in Munich . In 1994 and 1997 she became the Ukrainian champion. From 1999 to 2004 she was Austrian champion outdoors six times in a row, from 2000 to 2004 five times indoors.

Her personal bests are 21.08 m outdoors, achieved on May 15, 1988 in Gatchrypsch , and 21.60 m indoors, achieved on December 28, 1991 in Simferopol . With 19.21 m outdoors (July 13, 1999, Casablanca ) and 18.67 m indoors (January 22, 2000, Sindelfingen ) it holds the current Austrian records.

Valentina Fedjuschina is 1.90 m tall and weighed 90 kg at competition times. She started for the LCC Vienna and was married to the discus thrower Wolodymir Sintschenko .
