Vega de San Mateo is a municipality on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria . It is located south-southwest of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and northeast of Puerto Rico . The neighboring communities are Valleseco and Teror in the north, Santa Brígida and Valsequillo in the east, San Bartolomé de Tirajana in the south and Tejeda in the west.
