Vegar Kristiansen (born February 14, 1971 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian pool player . He was European Senior Champion in 2014 .
Career
In 1990 Kristiansen was 14/1 endless junior European champion . At the 9-ball World Cup in 1999 , he reached third place. In 2000 he only finished 33rd. At the US Open he reached 17th place.
In 2008 he was eliminated in the semifinals of the 14/1 endless competition of the European Championship against the German Ralf Souquet . In 2009 he lost in the 9-ball quarter-finals to the Austrian Mario He . At the 10-Ball World Cup in 2009 , he was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round. At the China Open in 2009 he reached 17th place.
At the Senior European Championships in 2013 he was runner-up in the 10-Ball final against German Reiner Wirsbitzki , and in 14/1 he was eliminated in the quarter-finals. At the US Open, he finished 65th. At the Men's European Championship in 2014 , he did not get beyond 17th place in the 8-ball. In the seniors, however, he was 9-ball European champion and runner-up European 10-ball champion in 2014, playing in the final against the Portuguese Henrique Correia . In 8-Ball he was eliminated in the semi-finals against the Dutchman Jesse Thehu .
On the Euro Tour , Kristiansen reached the quarter-finals at the Italy Open in 2000 . With the Portugal Open in 2001 he won a Euro Tour tournament for the only time so far by beating the Dutchman Alex Lely in the final . In the round of 16 of the Costa Blanca Open 2010 he was eliminated against the Spaniard Francisco Díaz-Pizarro . In 2013 he lost in the sixteenth-finals of the Austria Open against eventual tournament winner Niels Feijen , at the Bosnia & Herzegovina Open he lost in the quarter-finals against Daryl Peach from England .
At the 2010 World Team he was eliminated with the Norwegian team in the round of 16 against the Philippines.
Kristiansen has been Norwegian champion over thirty times.
