The Verbandsgemeinde Neumagen-Dhron was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Verbandsgemeinde belonged to four independent local communities , the administrative seat was in the eponymous community Neumagen-Dhron . After the population of almost 5600 inhabitants, it was the smallest association municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate and was dissolved on January 1, 2012.

history

The Verbandsgemeinde Neumagen-Dhron was reorganized as part of a functional and territorial reform by the "Eighth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate" of July 28, 1970, effective November 7, 1970 (in the 19th and 20th centuries .: Mayor's office Neumagen, from 1928 to 1968: Amt Neumagen, from 1968: Verbandsgemeinde Neumagen, from 1969: Verbandsgemeinde Neumagen-Dhron).

The community Neumagen-Dhron was newly formed on June 7, 1969 from the communities Neumagen and Dhron.

On September 28, 2010 the state government passed the “First Law on Local and Administrative Reform” with the aim of improving the efficiency, competitiveness and administrative power of local structures. For association communities it was determined that these should include at least 12,000 inhabitants (main residence on June 30, 2009). The so-called “voluntary phase” ended on June 30, 2012.

On February 10, 2011, the municipal council resolved to dissolve the Neumagen-Dhron municipality as of January 1, 2012. The municipal and municipal councils supported the dissolution of the municipality and the integration of the associated local communities into the neighboring municipalities. The merger agreement was signed on March 22, 2011.

The corresponding “State law on voluntary area changes in the municipalities of Neumagen-Dhron, Bernkastel-Kues and Schweich on the Roman Wine Route as part of the local and administrative reform” was passed on September 26, 2011. Accordingly, the municipalities of Minheim , Neumagen-Dhron and Piesport were incorporated into the Verbandsgemeinde Bernkastel-Kues on January 1, 2012 , while the municipality of Trittenheim moved to the Verbandsgemeinde Schweich on the Roman Wine Route and thus to the Trier-Saarburg district . The Neumagen-Dhron community retained its basic center status . On the occasion of the voluntary restructuring, the state granted a one-time resident-related allocation of 565,280 euros.

Association municipal council

The local council Neumagen-Dhron was last from 22 honorary council members, who in the local elections on 7 June 2009 in a personalized proportional representation were elected, and the full-time mayor as chairman.
