history

Volksbank Saarlouis eG

Volksbank Saarlouis eG was founded in 1905 under the name “Fraulauterner Spar- und Loanhenskassen-Verein” as a registered cooperative with unlimited liability in Fraulautern . On August 28, 1927, the name was changed to "Fraulauterner Volksbank eGmbH Fraulautern" by resolution of the General Assembly. In 1953 the administrative headquarters moved to Saarbrücker Straße in Fraulautern. In 1969 there was a merger with the Wallerfangen cooperative bank and the name was changed to "Volksbank Fraulautern-Wallerfangen". Seven years later, the company merged with Volksbank Siersburg and was renamed "Volksbank Saarlouis". In 1987 there was a merger with Raiffeisenbank in Saarlouis-Lisdorf and in 2000 one with Volksbank Wadgassen . With this merger, the succession plan on the board of the newly created bank was connected. In 2002 they merged again, this time with Volksbank Völklingen-Warndt , the oldest Volksbank in Saarland.

Volksbank Saar-West eG

Volksbank Saar-West eG was founded in Saarbrücken in 1928 as "Saarländische Beamtenbank eGmbH". The initiator was the board of the Saar officials' association . The special structure of the Beamtenbank became blurred from 1960 onwards. An institute that was limited to the original function of a Beamtenbank no longer had a sufficient business basis in Saarland. A reorientation and expansion was initiated. In 1967 the company merged with Ensdorfer Volksbank to form “volksbank + beamtenbank saar”. In 1968 they merged with Volksbank Schwalbach-Hülzweiler, which in turn only emerged in 1967 from the merger of Volksbank Schwalbach-Griesborn with Raiffeisenkasse Hülzweiler . In 1969 the name was changed to "volksbank saar" and in 1973 to "volksbank saar-west". In 1977 a new main office was opened in Saarlouis on Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring. In 1987 there was a merger with Volksbank Felsberg . The new spelling of the name was "Volksbank Saar-West". In 1997 Volksbank Püttlingen was added.
