Lisdorf ( in the local, Moselle-Franconian dialect Léischtroff ) has been a district of the district town of Saarlouis in Saarland since 1936 .

Lisdorf is located in the Saarlouis district , around 17 km northwest of Saarbrücken .

history

Lisdorf ( Letstorphem ) was already mentioned in a document from King Charles III. of France (who ruled Lotharingia 911–923 ) from December 20, 911.

Lisdorf was assigned to the canton of Saarlouis until 1815 , in the Moselle department .

Buildings

The most remarkable building is the Catholic parish church of St. Crispinus and Crispinianus , built in 1764 according to plans by a master builder from Wadgassen - expanded in 1929 and restored after the collapse of the choir in 1960 - with altars, pulpit and confessionals from the 18th century.

At Lisdorf there is a barrage of the Saar federal waterway, which was completed in 1999 (section Dillingen-Lisdorf opened in 1994; Lisdorf lock: 3.80 m lifting height)

Lisdorf is known for growing vegetables in the Lisdorfer Aue (also called Kapuzineraue), a fertile floodplain of the Saar . The Lisdorf branch of the Swedish furniture store IKEA is also well known .
