The ordinance on medium-sized combustion, gas turbine and internal combustion engine systems (44th BImSchV) provides for national emission limit values for Germany for the air pollutants sulfur dioxide , nitrogen oxides and total dust, which will apply directly or from 2025 or 2030. According to this, plants that do not require approval are to be registered and their emissions are monitored. The regulation implements Directive (EU) 2015/2193 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants from medium-sized combustion systems into the air into German law.
