The administrative community Bischofswerda is an administrative community in the Free State of Saxony in the district of Bautzen . It is located in the west of the district, about 19 km west of the city of Bautzen and 32 km east of the state capital Dresden . In the north, the federal motorway 4 runs through the community area. It can be reached via the Burkau connection . Federal road 6 runs through Bischofswerda .
