In the administrative community Elbe-Havel-Land of the district of Stendal were united original 14 communities to do their administrative business. The administrative community was created on January 1, 2005 from the merger of the eight communities of the dissolved administrative community Elb-Havel-Land with the six communities of the dissolved administrative community Schönhausen (Elbe) (the formerly independent communities Garz , Kuhlhausen and Warnau were incorporated into Havelberg at the same time ). The seat of the administrative association was in the community of Schönhausen (Elbe) .

9866 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​360.68 km² (June 30, 2006). The last administrative manager of the community was Carsten Wulfänger .

On January 1, 2010, the administrative community was dissolved. After the individual member municipalities had merged, they were replaced by the Elbe-Havel-Land association, which was congruent in terms of area .

The administrative community Elbe-Havel-Land in the east of the Stendal district is bordered by the Elbe in the west and by the lower Havel in the northeast . In between lies the Schollene region , a forest-rich ground moraine that is used as a military training area between Klietz, Schollene and Wust . In the east, the Brandenburg district of Havelland , and in the south, the district of Jerichower Land borders on the Elbe-Havel-Land administrative community.
