The administrative community Welden (also VG Welden for short ) in the Swabian district of Augsburg was created on May 1, 1978 by statutory order of the government of Swabia as an amalgamation of the communities Adelsried , Bonstetten, Emersacker, Heretsried and Welden. Adelsried left the administrative community on December 31, 1979 and became a unified municipality.

The administrative association has its seat in Welden. Together with the participating municipalities, it forms the core of the Holzwinkel in the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder Nature Park . The mayor of Weldens, Peter Bergmeir, is chair, and Günther Tauber is the branch manager.

The administrative community Welden consists of the following communities:

  1. Bonstetten , 1462 inhabitants, 6.75 km²
  2. Emersacker , 1425 inhabitants, 11.69 km²
  3. Heretsried , 1008 inhabitants, 17.31 km²
  4. Markt Welden , 3853 inhabitants, 17.98 km²
