Victor Nsofor Obinna (born March 25, 1987 in Jos ) is a Nigerian football player .

Career

In the club

Obinna moved abroad for the first time to the Italian Serie A club Chievo Verona in the 2005/06 season . In the summer of 2008 he signed a four-year contract with Inter Milan . From there he should be awarded directly to Everton FC , but this failed because Obinna did not get a work permit for Great Britain. Therefore, he stayed at Inter and played on October 4, 2008 for the first time in Serie A, the top Italian division. In the game of FC Bologna he came on in the 88th minute for Ricardo Quaresma . On October 19, 2008, he scored his first goal in the away game against AS Roma .

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he was loaned for one year to Malaga CF, on August 27, 2010 to West Ham United . In summer 2011 he moved to Lokomotiv Moscow in the Russian Premjer League . In January 2014 it was awarded to his former club Chievo Verona, from where he returned to Russia the following summer. However, he no longer played a role at Lokomotive, which is why his contract was not extended beyond the summer of 2015. In September 2015 he joined the German second division club MSV Duisburg , with whom relegated to the third division after losing relegation .

Before the 2016/17 season , Obinna joined the first division club SV Darmstadt 98 . His contract was terminated at the end of January 2017.

In the national team

On June 25, 2008 Obinna made his debut for the Nigerian national team in the African Cup of Nations against Mali . He was used three times in the course of the tournament, Nigeria finished third in the end. He then took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in China with the Nigerian U-23 selection and won the silver medal.
