Victor Tielbeek

Victor Joannes Herman Josef Tielbeek SSCC ( Portuguese : Victor João Herman José Tielbeek , born August 16, 1919 in Raalte , Netherlands ; † December 24, 1997 ) was a Dutch religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Formosa in Brazil.

Life

Victor Tielbeek joined the order of the Arnstein Fathers and was ordained a priest on August 4, 1946 .

From 1959 he was the administrator of the Formosa Territorial Prelature, which was established in 1956 . Pope John XXIII appointed him on February 4, 1961 first prelate of Formosa and titular bishop of Tipasa in Numidia . The apostolic nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Armando Lombardi , donated his episcopal ordination on April 9 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Fernando Gomes dos Santos , Archbishop of Goiânia , and Jaime Antônio Schuck, OFM , Prelate of Cristalândia .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On May 24, 1978 he renounced his titular seat because of the changed allocation guidelines. With the elevation of the territorial prelature to the diocese, he was appointed the first bishop of Formosa on December 4, 1979.
