Vila Vila is a town in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Vila Vila is the fourth largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Sacaca in the province of Alonso de Ibáñez . The village is located at an altitude of 3863  m on one of the plateaus of the Cordillera Azanaques on the upper reaches of the Rio Huancu . The ridges around Vila Vila rise to heights of just over 4000 m.

Vila Vila is located east of the Bolivian Altiplano in the northern part of the Cordillera Central . The region's climate is typical of the time of day , in which the daily temperature fluctuations are greater than the seasonal fluctuations.

The annual precipitation is about 550 mm (see climate diagram Sacaca), with a distinct dry season from April to October with less than 20 mm monthly precipitation, and a short wet season in January and February with precipitation well over 100 mm. The mean average temperature of the region is 9.5 ° C and fluctuates only slightly between 5 ° C in June / July and 12 ° C in November / December.

Vila Vila is located at a distance of 217 kilometers by road southeast of Oruro , the capital of the neighboring department of Oruro .

From Oruro, the paved road Ruta 1 leads south 22 kilometers via Vinto to Machacamarquita , eight kilometers north of Machacamarca . In Machacamarquita, the route 6 branches off in a south-easterly direction and reaches the city of Llallagua after 79 kilometers via Huanuni and over pass heights of more than 4,500 m . From there the Ruta 6 leads another seven kilometers to the provincial capital Uncía . Here a dirt road branches off to the east, which leads in a north-easterly direction via Chayanta and Irupata to Colloma and on to Acasio . Behind Colloma, after 26 kilometers, a country road branches off to the north, which after another 26 kilometers reaches Vila Vila .
