Vitray is a village and a former French community with 124 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the arrondissement of Montluçon and the canton of Bourbon-l'Archambault (until 2015: canton of Cérilly ).

With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Meaulne and Vitray were merged to form a Commune nouvelle with the name Meaulne-Vitray and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Meaulne.
