Vice Cathedral Office Fulda
The Vizedomamt Fulda was a judicial and administrative unit of the clerical principality of Fulda and the principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda .
history
In the Hochstift Fulda
The city of Fulda was a patchwork quilt in terms of administration and jurisdiction. It consisted
- the cathedral capitular audience : the Hinterburg winery, upper and lower hospital community
- the Altenhof office
- Parts of the Michelsberg Propstei
- Parts of the Propstei Neuenberg (the Lengsfelder Gasse) and
- the Vizedomamt Fulda.
The Vizedomamt Fulda was spatially responsible for the actual (i.e. the walled) city of Fulda apart from the mentioned other judicial districts. In terms of personnel, however, all court officials and residents of the houses belonging to the residence were not subject to the Vizedom but to the court marshal .
Principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda
After the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803, the 1802 secularized Hochstift Fulda was dissolved and the core of Nassau-Orange-Fulda. The Altenhof office was dissolved and added to the Fulda vice cathedral office. The provost offices were also dissolved and their rights distributed to the geographically appropriate princely offices. The Vizedomamt Fulda was responsible for the whole city of Fulda and the suburbs.
Grand Duchy of Frankfurt
In 1806 the Principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda was occupied by the French and in 1810 it became part of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt . In the French era , the name of the office was the city of Fulda (the other offices were called the district mairie ), the structure did not change (see court organization in the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ). In particular, the separation of the judiciary from the administration was not introduced.
According to the final act of the Congress of Vienna on July 9, 1815, the city passed to the Electorate of Hesse . Here the Vizedomamt Fulda was continued as the Fulda City Office. Spatially, it was given responsibility for the surrounding mills and the Ober and Unterziehers farms. In 1821, the separation of the administration of justice was implemented. Administrative tasks were taken over by the Fulda district , the judicial function by the Fulda justice office .
