Provost office of Sannerz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Propsteiamt Sannerz (originally Amt Herolz ) was a judicial and administrative unit of the clerical principality of Fulda and the principality of Nassau-Oranien-Fulda .

history

Fulda

Herolz was one of the estates that the Fulda abbot Richard left to the Neuenberg provost in 1030 . The lower jurisdiction also belonged to the donation . Therefore the property remained vogt-free until 1546 . In 1287 the town was fortified under Abbot Marquard II. At the beginning of the 14th century, the Herolz office was pledged to von Hutten , and in 1382 von Hoelin became a pledge. In 1430 the pledge was released and the office in 1432 to Mangolt von Eberstein. In 1465 the next redemption took place and in 1494 the last pledge (to Ulrich von Hutten). In 1546 this last pledge was redeemed. In a recess in 1561, Fulda and von Hutten agreed on bailiwick rights. The von Hutten received the bailiwick rights over Weiperz . In 1614, 1699 and 1704 Fulda acquired the Huttenschen noble estates that still existed in office. The noble estate in Sannerz , which was acquired in 1704, became the seat and namesake of the Sannerz provost's office, established in 1735. The background was a conflict between the abbot and the convent of the Hochstift Fulda over abbot and convent property. It was agreed that dean, provost and chapter should waive all disputed claims. In return, a new provost, the provost Sannerz, was created and given the office of Herolz as the provost office of Sannerz. The office consisted of Herolz, Sannerz and Weiperz.

The provost was at the head of the provost's office . An official was employed on site who had the duties of a bailiff , but carried the official title of official.

Principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda

The Principality of Nassau-Oranien-Fulda came into being on the basis of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803. With regard to jurisdiction and administration, the rulers' ordinance on January 8, 1803 reorganized the existing offices. The office Sannerz initially remained spatially unchanged. As part of secularization , it became a state office. The office was now called an Office III. Class. By announcement of March 22, 1805, the office Uerzell and the office Sannerz were canceled and assigned to the office Salmünster .
