Vlastimil Plavucha (born November 6, 1968 in Banská Bystrica , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player and current official.

Career

Vlastimil Plavucha began his career as a hockey player at TJ VSŽ Košice , for which he was initially active from 1990 to 1993 in the 1st division , the highest Czechoslovak league. After the division of Czechoslovakia, the winger played from 1993 to 1998 for another five years for Košice in the newly formed Slovakian extra league . In the seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96 he won the Slovak championship title with his team . He also won the IIHF Continental Cup at European level with Košice in 1997 . He himself was also extremely successful and was the top scorer in the Slovakian extra league in 1996 and 1998. In the 1997/98 season he was also elected to the All-Star Team of the Extraliga.

From 1998 to 2000 Plavucha ran for HKm Zvolen in the Slovak extra league. In the 1999/2000 season he was again selected top scorer in the Slovak Extra League and in their All-Star team. The 2000/01 season he began with the SCL Tigers in the Swiss National League A and finished it with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech Extra League . In the 2001/02 season as well as from 2004 to 2006 he appeared again for the HKm Zvolen in the Slovak Extra League, where he had in the meantime paused with ice hockey for two years. With Zvolen he also won the IIHF Continental Cup in the 2004/05 season . Most recently, the long-time national player ran in the first Slovak league , the second division of the country, for HC 05 Banská Bystrica from his hometown in the 2006/07 season , before ending his active career at the age of 38.

Since 2007 Plavucha has been working as General Manager for HC 05 Banská Bystrica, which has been competing in the Slovakian extra league since 2008.

International

For Slovakia , Plavucha took part in the C-World Cup in 1994 , the B-World Cup in 1995 and the A-World Cup in 1996 , 1997 , 1999 and 2000 . He was also in his country's squad at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey . At the 2000 World Cup, he and his team won the silver medal.
