The Volvo FMX (FMX = Forward control, Medium, Xtreme) is a heavy construction site truck that Volvo Trucks has been producing since 2010. The FMX is based on the Volvo FM and competes with the Renault Kerax or Renault K-Truck and Iveco Trakker .

The first generation FMX, introduced in 2010, had either the 11-liter Volvo D11 or the 13-liter Volvo D13 diesel engine with Euro 5 emissions standards . In addition to the short one, there was also a long driver's cab with a sleeping cabin. While the market launch in Europe took place in autumn 2010, the model was only available outside Europe from 2011. For the time being, the model will continue to be offered by Volvo as FMX Classic.

The second generation of the FMX was presented for the first time in April 2013 and will be delivered to customers from September 2013. Again, the FMX is based on the new FM. The engine output has now increased, making the FMX suitable for heavy haulage up to 120 tons. In addition to the short and long cab, there is now also the Volvo Globetrotter long-distance cab .
