The Volvo 7700 is a low-floor bus series from the commercial vehicle manufacturer Volvo . The buses were produced by Volvo Sweden and Volvo Polska. Buses of this series were in production from 2004 to 2011. These were built both as a 12 meter long two-axle vehicle and an 18 meter long articulated bus (Volvo 7700 A, the “A” stands for Articulated ). The Volvo 7700 Hybrid was derived from the 12 m version , whereby the vehicle was 74 mm longer to accommodate the additional technology (in particular a 4.5 kWh battery). Volvo reported a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 35%. In addition, the vehicles were much quieter when they started - up until now this has often been a problem when bus routes run through residential areas.
