Of Mice and Men is a 1992 incurred movie . Its main characters are John Malkovich and Gary Sinise , and Sinise also directed. The movie was the third US film version of the novel of the same name by John Steinbeck . A first version was made as a feature film by Lewis Milestone in 1939 , and another as a TV version in 1972.

action

The film, set during the Great Depression, tells the story of two migrant workers, George Milton and Lennie Small, who roam all of California. They want to raise the money to buy a small house with some land together.

The two migrant workers arrive at a farm in Soledad, California . They previously had to flee their old job in Weed because the strong but mentally retarded Lennie was accused of attempted rape. In his compulsive need to touch soft things, he had torn a young woman's dress.

On the farm, they seem a little closer to their dream when Candy, an old, one-armed farm helper, offers to pool the money with Lennie and George to buy the house.

The dream shatters when Lennie accidentally kills the young and attractive wife of Curley, the son of the farm owner. He wanted to stroke her hair and breaks her neck when she tries to defend himself against his violent stroking. When her death is known, a mob gathers , led by Curley.

George, disaffected with his dreams and opportunities, is also looking for Lennie. When he finds him, he shoots him to save him a painful death at the hands of the mob. In the final scene, George is seen driving through the night alone in an empty train carriage.
