The Vordereseespitze is a peak in the Lechtal Alps , Tyrol , Austria . At 2889  m above sea level A. it is the eighth highest mountain in the Lechtal Alps. The Lechtaler Höhenweg , section Kaiserjochhaus - Ansbacher Hütte , runs through its southeast flank . According to literature, the first ascent took place in 1855 by locals from Kaisers in the Lech Valley .

construction

The frontsee is made up of the main dolomite sedimentary rock and represents the highest main dolomite summit in the Northern Limestone Alps. The small, tongue-shaped, crevice-crisscrossed Vorderseeferner (largest glacier in the Lechtal Alps) is located on the northeast flank. The mountain is separated from the Aperriesspitze ( 2588  m ) by the Hinterseejoch ( 2482  m ). West of this yoke is in a Kar of Hintersee , east of the pass, the eponymous Vordersee . The neighboring summit in the north is the Feuerspitze .

Base and tours

The base for an ascent is the Ansbacher Hut at an altitude of 2376 meters. The normal route , the easiest ascent, leads either over the north ridge, according to the literature in the difficulty level UIAA II , or over through the northeast flank, also in UIAA ridge II. An ascent over the east ridge is slightly more difficult. The walking time is usually three and a half hours from the Ansbacher hut. The northeast flank is also possible as an extreme ski tour .
